Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know before you fly. Still have questions? Message us any time.
Is paragliding safe? What safety measures does Sky of Tenerife take?
Safety is our top priority. You fly with licensed pilots who hold instructor certificates, under RFAE and FAI rules. Our latest-generation equipment is checked every day, every flight carries a reserve parachute, and you are covered by liability and accident insurance. We only fly when conditions are right.
Do I need experience? What if I'm nervous?
No experience is needed at all. It's a tandem flight, so your pilot controls everything and your only job is to enjoy the views. Feeling nervous is completely normal. You are securely attached to your pilot the whole time, take-off is just a few steps (no jumping off cliffs), you can talk to your pilot throughout the flight, and you decide the intensity, from a calm scenic flight to acrobatics. Many of our most nervous passengers end up being the most enthusiastic.
Are there age or weight limits?
Tandem paragliding is open to almost everyone. Age: 5 to 65 years; under-18s must be accompanied by an adult and have parental consent; if you are over 65, please contact us first. Weight: 25 to 110 kg; if you weigh more, please contact us. You only need to be able to take a short run of a few steps at take-off. Please tell us about any medical condition (heart conditions, epilepsy, back problems, recent surgery, pregnancy) before booking.
What should I wear and bring?
Comfortable sporty clothes (avoid skirts and dresses), closed shoes with good grip (no sandals or flip-flops), a light jacket or long sleeves because it is cooler at altitude, sunglasses with a strap, and sunscreen. We provide all the flying equipment (harness, helmet and wing) and the GoPro for your photos. Bring your ID or passport and some water, and leave jewellery and loose items behind.
How long does the experience last?
The flight lasts 15 to 25 minutes, depending on the conditions. The whole experience takes about 2 hours, from the meeting point in Costa Adeje to the landing on La Enramada beach, including the drive up to the take-off at Taucho or Ifonche and the safety briefing.
Can I get photos and videos of my flight? How much do they cost?
5 GoPro photos are included with every flight. You can also add the GoPro photo pack (€40), with around 50 photos and 5 video clips of the best moments, which doesn't need to be booked in advance. For the Insta360 pack (€80), please check availability and book it in advance.
How do I book?
Book online on our booking page and pay securely through TuriTop. You can also book by phone or WhatsApp with a deposit of €50 per person, paid by payment link or bank transfer, and pay the rest on the day of the activity. Once confirmed, we'll meet you at our office in Costa Adeje (C.C. Tu Trébol, Local 6).
What happens if the weather is bad?
We never compromise on safety. We check the conditions before every flight, and if they aren't suitable (strong wind, poor visibility, rain), we don't fly: we'll offer you another date or refund your money.
Why choose Sky of Tenerife?
We are a united team of world and Spanish champions, instructors and logistics, with our own base in Adeje. If conditions allow thermal flying or acrobatics, we do it at no extra charge. 5 GoPro photos are included, our team speaks Spanish, English, German, French and Italian, and we fly from Taucho and Ifonche with beach landings at La Enramada.
